Confirmation of your reservation requires a 50% deposit. If writing for reservations please include the name of the desired boat, the number of passengers and the date of your trip. The cost of the boat trip should be paid directly to the captain of your boat (checks accepted).

The rest of your cost, ie. bait, tackle, beer, shacks, etc., can be purchased at the Sportfishing Center and we do accept major credit cards.

If you must cancel your reservation do so at least one week before the date of the trip. For groups of more than ten you should cancel at least two weeks prior to your trip.

Failure to notify us of cancellation will cause a forfeiture of your deposit.

We cannot predict the weather but weather can cause the cancellation of your trip. We will call between 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. the evening before your departure. Please leave a number where you can be reached. If you will not be home prior to your departure date please call the Sports Fishing Center and have a local number where you can be reached. Should a cancellation occur due to weather we will be glad to reschedule your trip or refund your deposit, whichever your prefer.

Bait and Tackle you will need:
Fishing conditions, weather, time of the year and the type of fishing you will be doing dictates the kind of bait and tackle you will need. In order to be properly outfitted check in at the Bodega Bay Sportfishing Center prior to boarding and you will be informed what your boat will be using for bait and tackle. All of which is available at the Sport Fishing Center. Al anglers over 16 years of age need a California sport fishing license. Rod and reel rental is available on board for $7.50.

What you should bring:

Be prepared for chilly weather and the possibility of getting wet. Bring your lunch, drinks, sunglasses and a suitable hat. There is room aboard all boats for one medium sized ice chest.

Check-in:

On the day of your departure please check in at the Sports Fishing Center one hour before departure to confirm your reservation and obtain the necessary bait, tackle and accessories. Your time of departure will depend on the type of fishing you will be doing. Usually the boat departs between 6AM and 7AM and returns around 4PM.

Fishing Regulations:

Check with the Sports Fishing Center or the deck hand on your boat for the amount, size and species of fish you will be allowed to catch and keep. Fish filleting is available on the boat for a nominal fee.

Special Trips:

The Bodega Sports Fishing Center offers special trips including light tackle rock cod, salmon mooching & trolling, ling cod specials, combination potluck trips and rock cod, dungeness crab combination trips. For further information please call:

The Bodega Bay Sportfishing Center is located in the Porto Bodega R.V. Park and Marina. You can park your RV, launch your boat, store your trailer, all within walking distance of the Sportfishing Center. Available at the Sportfishing Center is the latest tackle, bait and weather information as well as food and beverages.

Directions to Bodega Bay from Petaluma:

Once in Petaluma take the Washington Avenue / Central Petaluma Exit off of 101. Turn west. This puts you on Washington Avenue heading West. This road leads to Valley Ford at which time it becomes Highway 1 and continues to the town of Bodega Bay. In Bodega Bay you will drive past the Tides Restaurant and through a sharp hairpin turn. After the hairpin turn you will come to an intersection with Eastshore Road, you will see a sign for Bodega Head, Marinas, and Westside Park turn left onto Eastshore Road. note: Drive down a steep hill on Eastshore Road, at the bottom at the stop sign go straight and the shop is located behind the Sand Piper restaurant.
